Hoopes To Visit Oxford Centre for Business Taxation

Following in the tradition of many UNC tax scholars before him including Jennifer Blouin, Michelle Hanlon, Scott Dyreng and UNC Tax Center Founder Doug Shackelford, Jeff Hoopes will visit the Oxford Centre for Business Taxation (CBT) as an academic visitor for three weeks this summer. This is in conjunction with the CBT’s main academic tax conference, as well as another tax conference on the minimum tax under the OECDs new BEPS plan, both of which Jeff will attend. In addition, Jeff will visit Mannheim University for three weeks, reciprocating the visit of a UNC Tax Center visiting scholar (and now a co-author) from a few years past, Marcel Olbert. Oxford and Mannheim University are two of the world’s leading centers for business tax research, and these types of academic visits allow scholars to connect at a more personal level, engage in dialog and enhance their ability to do international corporate tax research.
